Conceptual PlayWorlds in Pre-service Teacher Education

This project aims to improve pre-service teachers’ understandings of playful pedagogies through the introduction of Fleer’s Conceptual PlayWorld (CPW). Based on 12 years of research, Fleer’s CPW, a research informed pedagogical intervention, integrates children’s imagination and play to foster the rich learning of concepts in key curriculum areas.

Working with our collaborating institution, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering, two local partner universities in Vietnam, Hue University of Education and Vinh University, we will co-design professional learning to develop local expertise to integrate Fleer’s CPW into Pre-service Teacher Education (PTE) courses in a culturally responsive manner.
